TA Sekhar wants injury management mechanism for Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 – Cricket News Update
TA Sekhar, the Indian pacer turned coach, has admonished the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to employ a full-fledged injury prevention system in order to avert the disaster Team India faced during their recently-concluded http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 tour.
Sekhar is of the view that there should be an effective precautionary mechanism in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and other training centers of the country to ensure the cricketers’ fitness round the clock.
He argues that the local coaches and trainers can play a key role in this regard, provided the board seeks their services.
Talking to the media today, the coach said, “There's no formula for avoiding injuries, but you can take precautions. You've to have a system in place, an injury management mechanism, which http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and England have. But it's not in India.”
He further told, “I think there's no injury prevention or injury management programme in place at the National Cricket Academy ( NCA). Is there a programme for fast bowlers? What is it? Who's running it? What are the credentials of the person who's running
the programme?”
The former speedster has come up with these suggestions in the backdrop of the Men in Blue’s dismal show against the English in both Test and ODI series.
After a streak of injuries to key players, team India lost all the games they played against England, and were demoted from their top spot on ICC's Test rankings.

Sekhar, who played 2 Tests and 4 ODIs for his national team during his International career, believes that if there is a coherent and comprehensive injury control system with the BCCI, such disasters can be averted in the future.
The Blue Shirts are all padded up to play a home ODI series against the Poms who have landed on the Indian soil today.
