  1. I am not sure what your question is asking. However, I wouldn't feed anything powdered to a horse unless it was mixed with something moist - too much dust that could be inhaled. Also, flattened, crushed, and broken all sound pretty much the same to me. I am little confused about your question. What kind of grains are you talking about?


  2. Horse feed suppliments and grains contain: Oats,Barley,Wheat,Corn,rice bran,soy products....etc in any form that makes the product digestable and look nice. Standards for horse feeds require that  protein,fat,fiber,and carbohydrates be listed on the label, giving you a good idea what your horse needs most in his diet besides hay. It might look rather descriptive, but people like labels and horses never complain when fed the right percentage of grains aka cereals.

    Note that the Tory ( Torijeskii) russian horse is only given supplimentary foods when working and not at pasture.  His main food is hay and pasture.
