okay so i got like 5 tadpoles around noon yesterday. i looked up sources of food for them. It said i can give them goldfish food and i did. But they wont eat it and i dont want them to die. Any body have any other sources of food i can give them? do they sell tadpole food in pet stores? pls help!!

  3. If you give them fish food, it&#039;s usually best to break it up into powder before feeding.

    I usually use the back of a spoon to grind the flakes into powder that the tadpoles can eat more easily.

  5. Tadpoles are herbivorous, meaning they eat plant matter. Can you get some of whatever was in the water you found them in?  (that would be what they&#039;re used to)

    Or, find a pond and collect some of the green slippery growing stuff (algae) and see if that would please them.

    Be careful to keep the water they&#039;re in well oxygenated, or they will suffocate.  Depending on how long you&#039;re planning to keep them, you may want to set up a small tank, complete with a bubbler for this purpose.

    Tadpoles in a bowl and nothing else will die.


  6. Try frozen (or cooked) chopped spinach. Also set a jar of tap water (open) in the sun. Within a couple of days, you should have a growth of algae started. You can use that to feed the tadpoles too.
