Question:

TANF & Other Support Options?

Currently I've been working full time and attending college full time. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and caring for my 8 year old. I'm the only source of income in my family and recently I've had to go on a medical leave from my job because I'm unable to work due to complications with the pregnancy. The only bad thing is that my leave is unpaid, so I have no income now at all to support my family.

I do get WIC, and that helps a little bit with food.. but until I'm able to go back to work, I don't know what I'm going to do about my loss of income. Does anyone have knowledge of how TANF works or if there are any other options for a single mother in Oregon that would give help with living/school expenses for the duration of my medical leave?

  1. You are pregnant and shall soon give birth to a new soul. In my opinion u must not worry yourself with fiscal matters if these can be overlooked. Concentrate on your health and don't loose it. Loss of money can be tolerated but at this crucial hour loss of health must not be tolerated.
