  1. Go to your local Department of Human Services and tell them you need to get on TANF (temporary assitance for needy families).  What they do is.  For any 24 months out of your life you qualify for a basic some of money a month.  With one child it is like a little over $100.00 depending on where you live.  They will automatically go after the dad for child support unless you tell them you don't know who the dad is.  During this time they will pay for daycare so you can look for a job, and work, they will help you fix up a car if you have one that needs fixing.  While on the program you can choose to go back to school or a VoTech to get a degree to learn a trade.  If you don't have transportation then they will provide you transportation to get you where you need to go.  They provide you with a Tea Coalition (food voucher) for any grocery store of your choice.  They provide uniform allowance (if your job or school requires uniforms).  I was a CNA and they gave me $300.00 for scrubs.  After you have been at your job for 30 to 60 days with no call ins or late arrivals then they can provide you with a car that you will need to make small payments on.  (but they pay the down payment to get you to a payment that is realistic for you to pay.)  They help with housing and all kinds of stuff.  Just get ahold of your local DHS, or DHR, or CFS, or whatever it is in whatever state you are in.

    Good luck

I used to be in the exact same boat.  Except at the time I was on the street with my children.  They helped so much.  Now I own my own little business.

I hope it works out for you.  I know it will, believe me it isn't charity either, because they will get their money back when you start paying those taxes.
