  1. if you apply sunblock to all the exposed parts ,

go to the beach daily from 9- 12 am , and 4-7 pm , and turn your body all over , you will look like a Hawaiin.

everybody will be jealous of your tan.

  2. Unless you are a pale freak of nature like me you will be very dark.

  3. Even though Egypt gets very hot the sun is kinder to your skin although you still have to wear a UV sunblock 14+ is recommended.

I am originally from Australia but now live in Luxor, even though my work as an Egyptologist takes me out doors quite a lot ,unless it is just to hot,I can honestly say I have not had sunburn in the past 5 years, where as in Australia after just 10-15 minutes in the sun my skin would begin to sting and I would be red and sore next day.

I always wear UV sunblock and although I don't have a deep Hawaiian tan I am no longer ice white and in pics the change in my skin colour is noticeable. .

My cousin is here staying for a while and she has darker skin tone than I have and after 2 weeks already has a really great golden tan and says she hasn't put much effort into it, as in lying by the pool sunbaking.

I do know from my friends experiences that the Egyptian tan is not a "wash off" tan like you get in Bali and Hawaii.

The tan you get here will last you a few weeks after you have been back home after your holidays.

Just remember to drink plenty of bottled water and invest in a good pair of sunglasses as the reflective glare here can do harm to your eyes.

  4. depends on skintone on the bodys reaction to sunlight and how ur skin absorbs it

  5. there are so many factors!  First, you should NEVER go without sunscreen.  No matter what!  But especially in the super light of the desert.

Second, the amount of time, and time of day spent out will affect the differences, as well as your own skin tone.

Why don't you take before and after photos...and start an experiment?  Do it for yourself and all the people in your party, and see what you come up with.  If you want to make it really a serious experiment, you have to all use the same sunscreen.  Record the name and spf and stuff.

  6. sandy

  7. Cover yourself with the highest sun screen, and you will still get tanned!!

  8. You cant determine that.

The color your skin turns is the color your skin turns when UV light absorbs into it.

So if i turn golden brown and u turn dark brown NATURALLY, then thats what color u'll turn.

The sun (uv light) brings out your bodies OWN natural ability to protect itself from the sun (also known as a tan)

14 days in Egypt will get u pretty dark, wear SPF!!! This will prevent the burning but still allow you to tan!
