I found this really pretty & feminine tattoo of three butterflies about four months ago on tattoofinder.com called "butterfly dance", and I am still in love with it. I'm finally getting it tattooed on my side in about 2-3 weeks. I wanted to add a little meaning to it though. This is what I came up with ... I have two brothers, and they mean so much to me, so I want to incorporate that into my tattoo! I was thinking of getting their initials next to, two of the butterflies, and then my initials next to the butterfly in the middle. I'd like to think of this as, "my brother's are always by my side."

I just hope it isn't too cheesy. Please don't leave rude comments, just tell what you think of it. Maybe you can also help me give it more meaning. Thanks :)

  1. buttery fly your last name

  2. You have a wonderful idea and you should go with it because you have thought it out, it also shows how much you care for them.

  3. The idea of having your brothers by your side is awesome but I don't like the butterfly idea. So cliche. I swore I would never get a fairy or butterfly tattoo. It's your body though. If you love it, get it.

  4. i cant see the tattoo :( the sight says "NO DESIGNS FOUND "

but i really like the idea

    :)

  5. Why don't you get the chinese symbols for brothers or "my brothers are always by my side" in chinese symbols!! I think that the symbols look really cool!!  http://chinese-word.com/data/0291-2.html go to this website and see what brothers in chinese symbols would look like!! Hope this helped! :)

  6. Actually, I think it's a brilliant idea and here's why:

You researched the tattoo...you still like it after several months so it's not a decision on a whim.

You're making it your own by adding your brothers' initials, I think that's great, I just got my younger brother's initials tattooed on my back, between my shoulder blades on Sunday, he passed away completely unexpectedly on  Saturday at the age of 21 and it was a way of healing for me.

Family is the most important thing in the world, keep them close, and cherish ALL the time you have with them, you never know what day could be the last time you spend with them.
