TE Jordan Cameron takes central stage in Cleveland Browns’ 2012 season prospects – NFL News
The Cleveland Browns expect the second-year tight end, Jordan Cameron, further eases into the offence and particularly becomes more beneficial to quarterback, Brandon Weeden, if the rookie is given the starting role from this season.
Jordan is seen a player with different skills at the TE position, standing out from the lot of his counterparts with other teams, and he is expected to make a difference for Browns this year.
As a matter of fact, some commentators believe Browns are able to bring in a player with so much upside at the TE position for the first time since a long time.
A number of analysts see him as a hybrid type tight end. He with his 6-foot-5” athletic frame can go up after the ball. This is the ability, which some other players at his position lack and it can help him become a star this season.
He was selected by Browns in third round off the 2011 National Football League (NFL) draft, but could not make an impression during the rookie appearance on the field.
Browns are planning to ease him down in their offence at training camp, starting later this month. The 23-year-old Cameron has fierce pace and very calculative but firm approach to the game. His grip on the ball is very firm.
Almost all commentators agree that the player has potential to become the next big thing at Browns. This should serve the team’s cause at two ends: the TE’s natural position of the player and complementing the efforts of their QB.
If he clicks to full form, Browns should expect a better run this season, improving from the past level of their performance, when they finished the season with only four wins.
The team faces three major teams of the league in the regular season. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals are far better outfits in the American Football Conference (AFC) North division.
Although, it is too difficult, almost impossible for Browns to get past these teams, they can still show a far better performance than what they did last or seasons before that.
