well our classes work like elemtary school. so how do they chose the kids to be in what class? ive noticed patterns like there are like 5 or 4 latino kids in each class i get with a certain group every other year.or is it completeley random?

  1. We always check the intelligence levels and strengths of each individual student. We try to get a balanced amount of each strength and weakness in each class.

It's probably not "completely random".  There's likely a method to their madness.  They're mandated to have a general mixture of all the kids in a grade by racial/ethnic background and ability.  So if they do it randomly, then find out there's too few of this type of kid and too many of that type of kid, they'll swap them around until it's fairly equally mixed.  At least in elementary and junior high they do.

    In high school, it will depend on how many in the whole school, how many sections of each class (9th, 10th, etc), how many signed up for this English course, that math course, and so on.  Unless it's an Honors or AP class, or a special needs class, they'll try to have a fairly equal mixture of ability levels in the general-level classes.
