Question:

TEACUP DOGS??????????

Ok, I'm really getting sick of hearing "oh I just got a tecup chihuahua" and "ohhh how cute, a teacup poodle!"

TEACUP is not a breed OR a class. TEACUPS cannot be shown in dog shows simply because they are unhealhty and do NOT meet the KC requirements of a healhty dog.

TEACUP refers to a dog that is too small to breed or show. Its an unhealthy small dog that breeders charge extra for. these so called "TEACUPS" are small because they have a genetic disorder that causes premature birth.

I was blown away when I found out that someone actually beleived that teacup was a class in dog shows. You know that it goes TOY, MINIATURE, and STANDARD right? No TEACUP!!!!!!

Need some sources? Google it, or go to this websight. http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm

  1. I'm beyond sick of it too. And I'm sick to DEATH of people not doing their research on breed standards when they are interested in a breed. They should be researching anyway!

Teacup shouldnt EVER be thrown around. It's more than just a runt, in some cases, it's not even that. It's a marketing ploy, a scheme to get stupid people to pay more for an overpriced, badly bred, dog.

    And it's getting old.

  2. We all know that there is no such thing but people are going to keep asking because they don't seem to know.  While you have been her since Feb 08, I have only been her since July and I have heard it a million times.  The poor folks who have been her for a few years have been dealing with it forever.

What you really have to remember is that while most of us understand there is no such thing, some people really do not know.  Yahoo Q & A is at least a way for us to educate some people.

Needless to say, if you are sick of this teacup thing already, you might just as well get off here now.  You will hear it over and over.  the only thing asked more often is "can you help me name my dog".

  3. So true, like cats in a bottle.

  4. i hear you!! you go girl!! hallelujah...

  5. Ok, this is ain't church.

We preach this day after day, week after week, year after year. IT GETS RIDICULOUS ! We know already !

  6. Even though you've been here since Feb. your activity shows you haven't been around here much.

    1. Yes, it gets old, I can't count the number of times this fact gets pointed out to people in a single 24 hour period.

    2. Your post constitues a rant which is against community guidelines. You could get your post removed, lose points and "respect" in the Yahoo system, and possibly have your profile banned for to many occurances.

  7. I'm perfectly aware of that!!!

  8. ok calm down

  9. Preaching to the choir are we?

    Yes, Yes, Yes.

We all know teacups are runts..

  10. You said it :D

  11. Jeezz, missed anger management class this morning?

Most people refer to triny dogs as "tea cups" because they are so small that they actually fit inside a cup, and not all are sickly premature dogs, a few years ago my aunt gave me a gift, she just came to my door with a tiny chihuahua puppy, so small she would fit inside our shoes! She is now 5 years old and extremely healthy, the vet has only given her shots because she never gets sick, she is playful, happy and less than 3 pounds (Fully grown) and No id di not "seek" out such a small dog, she just came that way, poeple have begged me to breed her so that they can buy a pup from me, some even offered over $2,000 but I refuse to do so because she may die in labor if her partner is not as small or even smaller than her (which will be almost impossible to find) so again NO, no genetic disorder, no sickly premature pup, nothing like that, just a tiny dog, just like some women are born naturally petite!

Here is a pic of my tiny girl.

  12. calm down its not a big deal

  13. Wow.  While I agree with you, I think you feel MUCH more strongly about this issue than I do, lol.

  14. You do know that to the people that you're targeting, it will fall on deaf ears, right?

About 98% of us know this, the majority of us preach it in a more coherent and less screamy manner than yourself.

So do you want us to tell you that you're completely right and to give lavish thanks for enlightening us?

I don't know whats worse, the people that want one, or the people that posts non-questions like this preaching about them. We know. They know. They also don't care.
