TEFL Courses?

Question

has anyone any experience of a TEFL course(Teaching English as a Foreign language)

also if you have taught in china or indonesia any help or advice would be very welcome

CELTA , run by Cambridge Uni. is by far the best course. In China over ten years ago, think it must have changed a lot. Learn mah-jong and gamble with the locals, just don't win (if you earn more than them, if you earn less, it's okay). Do not even try rice wine, stick to the beer.

edit:-mah jong is pretty much the same as rummy, but played with tiles, not cards.

CELTA Cambride Certificate in English Language teacing to Adults is the fist entry level course it can be done in 4 weeks or over six months two nights per week I did the six month version, it is very  demanding, most local colleges offer it.

Use tefl.com to get a job there are many in China. Use a western compamy like English First they can arrange the z visa and provide support in china. If you can make chinese friends do so, but make sure they dont exploit you. Don't stay with the expats too much and try to learn chinese ( Mandarin) they call it han yu, zhong wen or pu tong hua. It is difficult and no one will hear you at first but keep at it. I have been to china 4 times with EF and on my own.
