im a guest at a wedding this weekend. i plan on wearing a 'simple' black dress. its sleeveless, but NOT spaghetti straps. its cut a little above the knees. from the waist down, the dress is pleated.

i think the dress is cute, but is it appropriate to wear balck to a wedding??? i was going to dress up the outfit with a pair of gold shoes & gold accessories. simple hair & make up.

P.S. i found out the colors for the bridal party dresses are white & black.

HELP! i dont want to look like a fool...

  2. It depends on the theme.

    If its just casual,

    then no!

  3. no its not sorry

  4. It sounds perfectly fine to me if it's like you describe it, simple with accessories that pop sounds super cute to me!!!!!!  :) :)

  5. Black at a wedding is atrociously disrespectful.

  6. hahaha i think so, i had a custom made black wedding dress  i love it!!

  7. no...not for a wedding!

  8. Yeah, the dress sounds cute, especially with the gold. I'd go for it :)

  9. umm i think it would be disrespectful. just stick with some black liner and mascara ;]

  10. No never wear black to a wedding. Its very disrespectful to the bride and groom.

  11. aww so cute!

go for it & have fun.

  12. I like your idea. But you can add a red sash or scarf in your hair if its up. Or a red satiny scarf around your waist just to dress it up a bit.

    Dress with scarf- http://site.pacificplex.com/ebay/ba-2824...

    Hair-do with ribbon(fun cute and easy)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZgmHYMj0...

You can use any color ribbon for your hair and also for your dress. I'd match the hair and the dress ribbon though so nothing clashes.!

  13. Since your dress is solid and it won't make you look like you are part of the wedding party, it will be just fine to wear, especially to a formal wedding. With the gold accessories and shoes, you will look really cute. Go for it!  It is perfectly okay.

Best of luck to you and have fun at this wedding.   ☺

  14. It's ALL about how u accessorize! If you incorporate a few colors into ur accessories, u can pull it off beautifully. Try summer colors like  blue, orange, red, green, and yellow (not pastels because they r 4 spring). Pick the 2 colors u like together the most and use them as a guide for your jewelry, shoes, purse, and, if possible, ur belt. U can substitute a thin scarf around ur neck if u dont like necklaces, although I'd only do that if ur going to wear ur hair atleast partly up. Like if  u  wear a red and yellow belt, I'd wear maybe a red & yellow two color bracelet, or 1 red and 1 yellow bracelet and either red or yellow shoes, and purse, etc., as long as it's tastefully done! I just wouldn't pick more than 2 or 3 colors, and if u choose to use only 1 color, i'd avoid red, because it's to heavy a color to wear alone with black for summer!

I found this pic for u so u could get an idea. I LOVE THESE SHOES! They scream summer!  Check it out and see what u think.
