I am almost 15, I just finished freshman yr. I would really like to play tennis on the schools team nxt yr but I havent looked at a ball since the 5th grade. So what training should I do this summer (please me as specific as possible!!) I was thinking the 1hr 2* a week tennis beginner jr clinic at the local club and then an hr private lesson once a wk and playing w/ friends who will put up with me any time in btw. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

  1. Check out www.oneclicktennis.com, if it is in your area.  It'll set you up with matches with people around your level.  It's flexible too.  The more competitive tennis you play, the faster you will improve.  Don't worry if you lose a lot at first.  Do this in addition to the junior clinics and you'll be set.  You should also join any junior tournaments in your area too.  Go to www.usta.com for more information.  There are also junior tennis camps everywhere you should look into.  If you could focus on tennis for 8 hours a day, for a whole week, that would really speed things along.

  2. u should get coaching from a good coach and to improve tennis rapidly u should practice about 4-6 hours otherwise 1-2 hours . i suggest u to play from ur school team and also go for playing itf and other tournaments . good luk
