TENNIS IS SO TOUGH!!!!!!!!?

Okay first off i'm a small kid at 5 feet.

I use the Babolat Aeropro Drive Cortex Racquet. (Nadal Racquet)

I string it at 58 with Luxilon Big Bangers Alu Power.

I have wrist problems now because the string is so powerful and control king but is my favorite strings because i only play well with them so far.

Would Stringing it down to a 54-56 tension be better?

Can anyone reccomend a more arm forgiving string but with the same excellence as the Luxilons?

  1. I would string it down. It will be better. but it depends on your strenth.

  2. take a class and learn how to play tennis

  3. Luxilon's are a fluorocarbon mono-filament string which reacts like regular polyester but isn't (for the responder above).

Your tension is ok, if you start reducing the tension with those strings the feel will get progressively more dead and can actually harm the joints more. The problem is you're using a hard string with a stiff racquet. Babolats are notoriously hard on the wrists and using mono-filament strings definitely don't help (especially when you're a "small kid").

Aside from having a racquet that is probably incorrect for your play the strings are too strong. For a brief period I used a Babolat tour with Kevlar and even at 6'2" it was very hard on my wrist.

You should drop down to a hybrid. A kind of mono-filament (polyesterish) main string is perfectly fine but make the crosses a synthetic gut. This will give your serves a solid pop and durability while adding spin and feel on groundstrokes. Additionally the synthetic gut will stretch and offer you some wrist forgiveness.

  4. Do not use polyester strings. I used gosen polylon for some added string durability. My wrist got screwed big time. As soon as I went back to synthetic strings, my wrist problem disappeard the very next day. Go for soft synthetic strings or gut.

  5. Well done!  However you are a small kid playing with a man's raquet - maybe tweak the strings down to 54/55psi and see how you go.  Borg used to play at 65psi (very tight)!

ps Play your shots from your hips NOT from your wrist and wearing supports would help
