TEQUILA... silver and resposado.. which is best for shots and which for margaritas??

Ugh... I am buying Cabo Wabo... I cant afford the brown one (anejo)... so I need to decide between the clear(silver) or blue (resposado)... I want it for SHOTS

Honestly, for shots or Margaritas, I'd buy something lower end than Cabo Wabo. I'm a huge fan of sipping high end tequila, but think it's a waste of money for just about anything else. Shots go down so fast, who cares? And for margaritas, I like to have the taste of tequila to cut through all that sweet/sour stuff and something like Cabo Wabo is too smooth to do that.

But if it's Cabo or nothing - the Silver would be my choice for shots/margaritas.

I say if you are buying Cabo it is all good. Cabo is a better tequila, the type of tequila will matter less with higher quality tequila. While there is a difference, a goos quality tequila should be good in either shot or drink form.

If you are looking for tequila for shots, I'd go for the aged any day. I'm not a fan of silver in my margaritas, and truly don't like it as a shot.

Darker tequila that's been aged has a better flavor as far as I'm concerned.

Have you tried Cazadores reposado? It's pretty smooth and very tasty. Around $18-$20, I believe. I killed a bottle at the Huntington Beach Hyatt over a three day stay. They made me killer margaritas.

the best tequila all round is the golden stuff taste purity and stength play a part but frankly its a premium drink rather than the bog standard house silver

if you looking for a good tequlia thats not too much, get the 1800 regualr, not the silver or the resposado.

If you makeing mixed drinks jose will work fine, i like gold better then the silver.
