I want to become a bilingual teacher in Texas, but need a little help to decide which test to take.

Do you know the difference between these two?

Which one should I take or should I take both?

Thanks for your help!!

  1. The 103- bilingual generalist  includes the elementary generalist and bilingual supplemental.  It is about 190 questions.  The supplemental is just that.  People take the supplemental if they have already taken the elementary generalist.  I know some teachers who Spanish is there first language and it takes them longer to take the test (translating purposes) and they don't finish.  They usually take the Elem. Generalist with is about 130 questions and the supplemental later for better results. Good luck hope it helped.

  2. Although I don't know the answer to your question,  I know where you can find the answer: Texas State Board of Education.  Ask for the certification department.
