1.) Do passengers on TGV pass through "turnstiles" upon disembarking in their destinations, or they pass through only on their origin station?

2.) How about those for international travellers (like the Eurostar)? where are their passports checked and do they also pass through turnstiles at their destinations?

thank you

  1. In both cases, at the destination.

  2. The simple answer is no, the only checking that is done is at the origin location. The exception to this being Eurostar upon arrival at Waterloo where you 'may' be subjected to a passport/customs check.

Passports are checked before you get on the Eurostar, UK immigration have officers in all terminals on the continent, with their French equivalents doing the same in the UK. This minimises delays at 'journeys end'

    Strange question to ask though?

  3. In Europe you'll be very surprised how civilized the people are but there's always the bad apple !

In Europe you but your ticket & hold on to it until you get out the station then you can descard it

not before because the bad people are always affecting the good people.your ticket will allow you to stay in the waiting room and you must make sure to reseve your seat in advance and on the ticket you'll get a wealth of information to help you get to you train with no problem at all.

as for transtiles is concern, you'll find it only when you're ready to board the train.

When you travel on an international trains and as I said you must reserve your seat ahead of time

Then you need to validate your ticket right on the train platform and take your seat and here comes the conductor to check your ticket and depends on the trip time and your passport will be checked

in the last stop before the train enters another country.....Today Europe is considered one country ( The European Union ) but you must keep your eyes opened for your own security unless you're traveling with somebody.

    Have a nice trip.

  4. I've never been checked at all at a destination - no turnstiles, no passport checks. All of my travel was within Europe, with TGV destinations in Nice, Lyon, Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Seville, Madrid, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg.
