So I have always been onto astrology...but I never new how fuckkkkkin much there is to it. There’s the sun, moon, rising ,mars, Jupiter, Saturn,….etc. It’s just like sh*t, I end up being like every sun there is. How do you people grasp all this information. The 3 most important aspects seems to be: SUN,MOON,RISING….is this right?? Or are there way more factors that play into it. Oh, and if someone wants to lightly skim the surface of how exactly, or what exactly the signs that fall under your mars sun rising…etc mean. That was confusing. But like how the rising plays into your personality, how the Neptune does and so on. Thanks

  1. ok, i will break it down for you and keep it real. if you memorize the basics for each of the 12 sun signs you will have grasped enough information to blindly interpret anything in astrology. if you want to be able to skim the surface of anything in astrology you just need to take it all in in small doses and take your time with it. make it a fun hobby. dedicate one day on reading a funny book about gemini and learn the personality. try the 'love on a rotten day', 'friendships on a rotten day' and the 'born on a rotten day' books. they are so awesome, informative and funny. it isn't dry and you will fly through them. read them at the book store a few pages per day on your way home or what not.

    --------------------------------------...

here is break down of basic info to jot down and remember:

12 signs. they are broken into 4 elements. each element is broken into 3 types or qualities.

                                     mutable                fixed                 cardinal

    earth                        virgo                       taurus          capricorn

    water                         pisces                  scorpio        cancer

    air                              gemini                  aquarius         libra

    fire                          sagitarius               leo                   aries

earth: physical plane. body, health, wealth, money, security, materials, manners, respect, laws, body language.

water: emotional plane. feelings, intuition, spirit, intensity, heart, relations, kindness, unspoken bonds.

air: mental plane. thought, ideas, opinions, intellect, facts, knowledge, social, contacts, friendship.

fire: pure energy. movement, activity, excitement, inspiration, instincts, boundless spirits in motion, fun, experiences.

mutable: changing, willing to bend and sway for others, self sacraficing, multiple opinions and ideas feelings and duplicity, can see all apsects of an arguement or situation. prone to peer pressure, needs others, helpful, and needs acceptance.

fixed: stubborn, unchanging, strong sense of self, reliable base for others, continues on steadily, opinionated, hard headed, unwilling to change or flex for others, strong support.

cardinal: leaders. they start things off and make things happen. can be very strongly fixed on certain things and can be flexible and willing to work around obstacles.

    --------------------------------------...

sun is most important and strongest influence in the chart. it is the spirit itself. it is who we are inside and why we live. the sun sign is our inner self and our purpose for being.

the risign or ascendant is the face we wear over our sun sign. it is the eastern influence of our birth time. the rising is how others see us and is how we go about filling out our sun signs desires. it is the front that people see most  at first, but as we get to know each other we are seen as our sun signs. the rising sign influences our first impressions and how we go about doing what we seek to do.

moon. the moon sign is our hearts sign. it is how we relate to others. it is how we deal with matters of the heart and how we respond to those we love. it is our hearts drive and way of going about doing things.

the moon is a slight influence and only affects some aspects of our full character. but it would be like comparing an arm to the whole body. it is vitally important and has uses unique and beyond its own purpose. so is the same for the rising sign.

  2. Hello K

The rising sign is how you show yourself, or better still, what you decide to show others but , may not actually be the real you.

The Sun is your individuality and you reflect this thru the Ascendant.

Moon is your personality and important as well as her nodes, eclipse. etc...

Mercury is important as this shows how you communicate, how you express mentally. It governs the sense of seeing, the mind, both in the subjective and objective state. He is the active intelligence.

Venus is associated with the emotions or aspirations that arise from within us. She expresses and represents beauty, attraction, personal magnetism.

Mars is the internal fire, the personal desires, our energy an shows how and where we tend to express it the most by sign and house placement.

Jupiter shows the area where you will be most fortunate and gives the inspired intuition, the higher education in life.

Saturn is the task master, the teacher.  He shows the lessons and experiences in life, whether you learn or need to learn.

Uranus is the planet of conventions, the higher mind, the unexpected, the intuitional principle, the occult sciences.

Neptune is the awakener, , the spirit, and rules the both, sleep and the waking state, our psychic tenencies, our illusions. He is the higher octave of Venus.

  3. The first two answers above are good ones...  and the way ou grasp astrology is like everything else... one step at a time.

My favorite "first" astrology book is The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest... it is real stripped down and gives you all the core basics of a chart, and then walks you through looking at a chart. It's where I started 20+ years ago.

Another idea: get your chart read by a professional astrologer and make sure you record the reading. Then listen to it a few times while studying your own chart.

And of course... practice practice practice...

  4. www.astro.com===>free horoscopes===>personal portrait===>click to enter data entry page=====>give them your date/time/locale of birth and wham....they'll explain everything to you and it won't be so confusing for you.
