I just recently got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and around the same time I started losing interest in my man of 2yrs.. I was happy with him had only small complaints here and there, now I'm getting annoyed with almost everything he does, fighting with him alot more than normal and not careing to much about s*x which is CrAzY for ME... Also finding other men very much more actractive than him now! And don't know why; could it be the thyriod?? I know it effects s*x drive, mood, eating habits and more but is it really enough to ruin my relationship or am I just OVER him???

  1. its a toss up, the emotional strain of hyperthyroidism is tough to acknowledge, and push through. i cant  perform sexually without my heart  palpitating, i dont get turned on, and i cant even give my hubby a ******** because my throat is so swollen and sore.

there is a newer treatment available, called arterial embolization, but you should look into it  because i haven't got all the info. im saving up for that treatment!

  2. yes it could be you thyroid gland, but you can control your problem,go see a therapist

  3. Hun its nothing to do with anything like this ..it can be family history of thyroid problems or after the birth of a child (which happened to me ), it can cause depression though which tends to mean you need you dosage sorted out and talk to your GP

  4. My right eye bulged out like an eye of a gold fish, the front of my lower legs had ugly dark pigmentation, I was easily irritated which made me a nag, I was very negative,I get overly dramatic, I screamed and yelled a lot, I developed so many allergies, rubbing my nose all the time. I also had migraine, muscle aches, blurry vision, back aches, upset stomach etc. etc etc. I am like a vampire in the sun.I get weak and get tired easily. My s*x life was horrible. And yes, I found some other men attractive. Sleep does not come too easy and if I sleep, I sleep for hours and hours.I am mentioning all these because, I want you to know you are not alone on this,

I too had hyperthyroidism for many years before I got diagnosed. My depression was severe. By the time I got diagnosed and treated, it was too late.My 16 year marriage ended ugly and bitter. Leaving behind my son and myself emotionally traumatized and a newborn without a dad.

Get help right away. You and your man will need help, TOGETHER.

Ask your doctor to have him present when you talk about your medical condition. It is critical that your man understands how this disease affects every aspect of your relationship. It affects your physical, mental, and emotional state. And,Yes, your s*x life.He needs to be able to cope with your outbursts. He cannot do that,if he does not understand ,that it is the disease not you. For some people it is not as bad, for some people it becomes complex and much worse. This is a true test your love. So prepare yourself for the outcome.

It is called "Graves Disease".I don't know why it is called that. With what I went through with this disease, it put my 16 year marriage to the grave, it almost put my myself and my sanity into the grave.

There is no cure for Hyperthyroidism/Hypothyroidism ,but the horrible stuff that you suffer with, can be controlled by medication. You have to surrender yourself to the fact that medication is for life or until they discover a cure for it. Get help right away and be strong.

You can have a normal life and s*x life with the proper help and medication.
