Question:

TL1000R is this a good deal?

Guy selling a 2001 Suzuki TL 1000R near me on craigslist for $4500. It has 14,000 miles, no damage, mint condition. New tires, comes with 2 helmets.

The TL 1000R has been my dreambike since age 11 when I first saw one rip past me outside a hardware store...so there's a sedimental factor here too-why I want to buy it. I would obviously try to talk the guy down a little bit.

My current dreambike is a KTM RC8 1190, but thats unrealistic for me to buy- the TL is such a beast.

Any reviews on the TL?

  1. Throw the hemets out, you don't know if they've been dropped or not... or expect him to keep them and discount the bike.

    It's a $3500-$4000 bike

  2. No. And it's "sentimental"

  3. yes

  4. Hey Kyle, I owned a 97 and absolutly loved it. I sold mine in 2004 with 16k on it for 3500, but I am in upstate NY so the market here might be a little different than yours. If it really is in mint condition then offer him 4 grand. You will love that bike!!! The ONLY reason I sold mine was to put a down payment on my house, otherwise I would never have sold it.

  5. The TL is a great option for you kyle, I think it would suit you well...

  6. I rode with one last year and it sure has a sweet Exhaust note. It ain't Your Daddy's V Twin. :-)
