TNA iMPACT report – Former TNA World Heavy Weight Champion,
Jeff Hardy, appears on TNA again
The former TNA World Heavy Weight Champion, Jeff Hardy, appeared in the TNA iMPACT show on Thursday, 5th May.
He did not participate in any fight but he was shown backstage with his brother, Matt Hardy. Jeff is currently defending himself in a drug-use case against him.
Hardy still has chances to survive a punishment for his drug-use case. The case was further postponed by Senior Resident Judge James J. Webb on 20th April.
The purpose for delaying this case was to assess the drug treatment. Hardy’s attorney, James Van Camp, demanded the continuance from the judge this time.
James said that there had been no assessment made as yet and it needed some more time. He said that they should wait for the lab test reports that were taken by the State Bureau of Investigation. Hardy’s drug-use case is in process in Moore County, North
Carolina Superior Court.
Hardy is a former TNA World Champion. He retained his TNA World Championship against Ken Anderson in TNA Pay-Per-View event, “Against All Odds”, on 13th February, 2011. It was a momentous match between Hardy and Anderson.
Anderson acquired the title from Hardy a month before that PPV event at Genesis but Hardy retained it again. The victory was taken after 16 minutes of a brutal match.
On 3rd March, Sting returned to TNA after several weeks’ absence.
Hardy was strained to put his world title on the line against a mysterious challenger, who was Sting. Hardy could not defend his title and Sting became the new champion.
Hardy made a statement that he did not prepare himself for the match against Sting and demanded a rematch. A championship match between Sting and Hardy was set for the TNA PPV event, “2011 Victory Road”, on 13th March.
Sting retained the championship due to the cooperation of Eric Bischoff and the referee in just one and a half minute. After the PPV event match, Hardy was not seen in the weekly TNA iMPACT shows. He was fighting his drug-use case during that period.
Hardy returned to TNA again after Victory Road. There are chances that Hardy will collide with the current World Champion, Sting, for a title shot in upcoming events.
