  1. First of....STOP PANICKING!!

i got mine out a year ago and i was 18 at the time..i thought it was fine!

i was eating that night, but my advice is drink LOADS of water...as in i had a bottle of water in my hand all day and was constantly sipping on it...the longer i left it before i took a drink the sorer it was to start again!!

it didn't affect my voice to speak, but it did affect my singing voice...i like to sing as well..but not very noticeably but you will probably notice it!

Advice: wake up through the night to take your medication...i didn't and i was always sore in the mornings until i took the tablets... the ear pain on day 5 was sore, but the throat pain was never any sorer that tonsillitis!

The operation and anaesthetic is fine though nothing to worry about!!

  2. both my kids had their tonsils out the same day and did fine.  just very tired and a sore throat like when you have strep.  they give you tylenol with codiene usually and that takes the pain away.  no gym class for 4 weeks and that's about it. soft foods for a few days

  3. it'll hurt after

    and no to the rest

in my opinion its a pointless procedure because you sill might get sore throats after

  4. Nothing to worry about your voice. Tonsillectomy is a simple surgery and even less hospitalization or no hospitalization.

  5. mine hurt for the first week. just drink lots of cold fluids and eat popsicles and such. your voice will not be affected

  6. I just had mines done this past tuesday...and i'm still in a little bit of pain. So...YES! it will hurt. Your Uvula (The little thing that hangs in the back of your throat from the top of your mouth) will be swollen for about a week, they say 3 days...but that's a lie. If your into ice cream, you can eat as much of that as you want, or pudding, jello, smoothies etc. I've been dying for some real food. Hope this helps and good luck if you get it done, it's quite the experience I must say.

    Cheers!

    P.S.

Your voice will be just fine.
