Question:

TORN CONTACT PROBLEMS!?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

just got new package of contacts after my first trial of them.

i have acuve 2-week contacts.

after just 3 days my left one has like the smallest tear ever, like i don't even notice it when i put it on, however my right one has the HUGE tear and my eye is irritated so much when i put it on.

should i change my left one as well as my right one?

and how can i prevent tearing? i don't have super long nails, and my friend has the longest nails ever and she's never had these problems. these contacts cost ALOT and i don't want to cause my mom any more trouble since she bought them for me =/

  1. Are you having problems with your eyes being dry? That could cause tearing issues. Yes, do change them both. It eventually will agitate your eye, and you'll have to wait a few days before you can wear them again.

  2. Replace them when you have any tear at all.  It just gets worse, and the last thing you want is for a piece to rip off and get under your eyelid--it's really unpleasant.

I have noticed that visine weakens contacts--if you use visine you need to wait a half hour to put the contacts back in.  If you put the visine in your eye with a contact in, it won't last long--it may even rip right then.

The only other advice I have is to get no-rub solution for cleaning them without the risk of tearing them.

  3. You need to replace those contacts......your mom will be a little ticked but she will understand when it comes to the health of your eyes.

  4. FYI, acv lenses is very soft thus it tears easily. Try softlen toric. its tearing strength is better

  5. never wear a contact with even the slightest tear in them.  You need to be a lot more careful when you handle the contacts..../

  6. You need to be more gentle when you handle them.  They are fragile.

Make sure you're using a lot of saline when handling them.
