TPC Blue Monster at Doral features a scary 18th hole finish

The 18th hole of the TPC Blue Monster at Doral Resort & Spa is the finest and toughest of all, giving a tough time to golfers every year.
TPC Blue Monster is the proud host of the mega event, World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship. It is staged every year on the same course and puts up a tough challenge for all the field members.
All the top-ranked players are in Doral Miami to play and record good scores from March 7 to 11.
Players play well throughout the four-day game play, but as soon as they reach the final hole, they find it extremely hard to stay focused.
A par-4, 467 yards 18th hole of the TPC Blue Monster contains a giant water hazard covered with palm trees and slanted green.
Such features make it the most difficult hole of the entire golf course.
In addition, there is also a threat of bunkers, near the greens, which also demands extra efforts from the golfers to finish the tournament impressively. One lose stroke on the 18th will harm the scores a lot.
It is also ranked on the 33rd position among 918 toughest holes, where tournaments staged by the PGA Tour are played.
Last year, during the Cadillac Championship, players carded 65 unimpressive bogeys and 19 double-bogeys as well.
The field of the WGC-staged tournament always has top-ranked golfers.
Despite having all the leaders, only 27 birdies were scored on the 18th hole last year. This fact speaks loudly of the toughness of the hole.
"It's one of the best par-5's on the PGA Tour," said Zach Johnson, who is in the field at Doral Miami.
He continued, "It's the hardest hole on the planet, especially with a left-to-right wind coming into you. I know it's not technically a par-5, but the first hole there is a par-5, and 18 always has a higher stroke average than the first hole".
Almost every player faces difficulties while scoring at the 18th. The bogey ratio is higher if compared to the others holes. Similarly, for a long time, no golfer scored an eagle either.
"The 18th is just one of those holes that scares you," Johnson added.
In order to be at par or better on the 18th hole of the TPC Blue Monster at Doral Resort & Spa, every player has to show extra efforts and make impressive strokes.
