do you think about the young man at Mikos whom was beaten

up unfairly by bouncers and others. He was on holiday and

died a few days later ! Should our government put warnings on

people going to this place. Especially in the newspaper a young

man complained that the same happened to him and a friend,

severely beaten with bats by a gang of greek men on the same

island of Mikanos or Mikos as it is called ? Why spend our money

somewhere dangerous ? Why does our foreign affairs office issue

warnings. or better still demand from this country to do something.

  1. It's called Mykanos and it isn't a dangerous place.  Don't blame the Greek people in general.

Calm down dear, no-one has it in for the Australians as you say.  It was a very bad thing that happened but it's not an everyday occurrence.

  2. Dont blame the country or the island....blame the 4 people who killed him...theres sick people everywhere

  3. just stay at home and dont go outside. you wont get hurt but your life will suck. people get killed unfairly everyday.

  4. attention everyone!!!!

I am Sofia and am Greek.

    This is the true story.

There was o boy from Australia came to Mykonos-as its called-for holiday..The Australian boy whent to a bar. Into this bar the tv was showing a football game betwin Albania and another Team. When Albania scored the Australian boy claped his hands as congratilations to the team. But there are lots of Greek people who hate Albania ones-because Albania people come here as emigrants- that is totally unfair and personaly I hate it.But it hapens.

So,when he clapped his hands everyone in the bar was looking at him straingly. Then bar's 4 henchmans took him outside and hit him very much, like he had done o terrible crime! After lot of hours he finally went to the hospital and was in a coma for a few days. After that, he died in the hospital.Yesterday the district attorney set the 3 of the henchmans free till the lawsuit. Also Australian's boy dad who came here when his son was in a coma and remains here ,gave his son's hurt and other nematocusts to other people for transplant and 4 people saved by those nematocusts. Also this man said to the media ''I have nothing with Greek people.I just hate those 4 henchmans who killed my son''

Personally I had to say that I was ashamed of being Greek when I heard that this boy was dead. And I felt ashamed of being Greek and furious with Greek police when I heard they set free the 3 of the 4 hunchmans. Of course this can't bring back the Australian boy.His father is the greatest hero I've ever seen.Much more than every hero in my people's history. There are no wards to describe who almost all Greeks feel about this tragedy.I am not trying to support Greeks, but as some of you people and Australian's boy father said, we can't be furious with all Greeks because some of them are murders. For me those people are nothing but murders and unable to call people.

As about the banishment, I just hope the Australian police be involve in this.....And I suppose everyone understand what I whant to say with this words

    thanks for your attention

  5. hey it is very sad but we cant blame the government, crazy killers live everywhere

  6. So no one has ever been murdered or killed for no reason (including un-prevented accidents, for instance) in your country? Or in any other country? What happened is really sad, everyone in Greece is devastated. On Mykonos there was a huge protest of ALL the inhabitants against what happened. We hate what happened more than you do. Do you know why? Not for money, which seems to be what you regret more, but because in Greece hospitality is sacred since ancient times. A guest is sacred too. But unfortunately there are people who don't deserve to be Greek or to be humans, and killed this boy. It is so sad. But there are also millions who went to the Greek islands and had a great time. In fact, I wish less foreigners visited Mykonos, because this huge tourism is the reason it has become like this, full of bars, clubs and the bouncers that go with it. So in a way I wish you did "boycott" it somehow, in order to go back to being the quiet picturesque town with beautiful beaches and archaeological sites.

  7. I knew this guy who got stabbed by these gang of black people. He went to hospital came out then went to the pub and started a fight with someone then the bouncer pushed him in the back and he fell to the ground he died. The bouncer had pushed him in the spine and killed him it was very sad.I think that bouncers need to learn during there training how to deal with people better.

  8. First, the island is called Mykonos and not Mikos.

Also, you dont have to personalize the incident, Is not about Mykonos or about Greeks, those are just a bunch of loosers-wannabe tough men,who think that beating others will make them warriors or something.

Mykonos is the no1 destinations in Greece, and maybe to the tops in the world, because it compines beauty, great life, and is always a good choice to go.

The man's father said:: i dont blame the Greeks nor the island,Greeks are wonderful and this is just a special/indivitual case.

The problem is not prejudice my friend,if it was like this, believe me ,the island wouldn't have millions of tourists ,for many many many years now....

Especially to Australians....Many Greeks migrate in the past ot Australia and they love australia and australians...

So i suggest you,if you want to make a question in YA do it ,and do not jump into conclusions just because you think so....

Especially when the subject has to do with an innocent young life, you should close your mouth instead of deciding where to "spend your money at"

For you is a matter of money, and holidays deserve or not,for me is sorry for the lost life, the greatness of the father...

    edit:

When it has to do with a recently lost life, which is is shown as the "maskot" here,in order to present your opinion about an island, this is not called guts

  9. From spending some time in Greece and hearing both sides of similar stories, I can assure you, until you know the full story there is no reason to feel sad.

Most of the times it involves drunken guys (or girls) who are refused to be allowed inside a bar/club. They are told to sober up before entering, since nobody wants trouble...

Apparently some people still find it necessary to start an argument with a bouncer, some will start a fight...

    Draw your own conclusions.

By the way, it's usually the British people that behave like that (again from own experience only).

Why is it that some people feel the need to behave so badly when they are away from their homes?

  10. I think it is very sad wat happened, but unfortunatly it happens everywhere! bouncers just think they are aloud to do wat they do, i hate bouncers! they beat up my brother just because the bouncer was jealous he was talking to his gf who worked behind the bar who was my brothers friend...

I just think everyone has to be careful where ever they go.
