TRAVELING TO MEXICO?? plug in outlets??

Hi!! I am leaving for spring break in just like 3 days and I need to buy a charger for my ipod. So I just need to make sure i got this straight. Tell me if this is right or wrong: I can buy a simple 2 prong american ipod charger and it will easily work in the outlets in my hotel near cancun!!?? thanks so much! Please correct me if I'm wrong!

  1. Yes the simple "2 prong American" iPod charger most likely will work in the hotels near Cancun.  Mexico uses the American standard plugs.

    In the mot unlikely event you have problems, any basic supermarket in Mexico will sell you an adapter for less than a dollar, that will not damage your charger or iPod.

  2. There are at least 3 big Malls close to the hotels....as Plaza America.

  3. Nearly all of the major tourist areas in Mexico use the same voltage and two-prong plugs as the U.S. does.  Should you find a 220 outlet, it will not look like our outlets and you will need an adapter.  Send the hotel an email before you go, and ask (just to be on the safe side).

  4. Mexico runs the same power as Canada and the U.S.A..  The only difference is that they have very few grounded plugs (only 2 prongs) so you will have no problem.
