  1. PLEASE TELL HIM TO SEE A DENTIST IMMEDIATELY-FACIAL SWELLING CAN BE LIFE THREATNING!

he sounds like he has an infection-an abcess check the gums for a pimple like lump. pain killers may work in the short term but he needs the tooth removed or filled depending on the severity. he may need antibiotics before the dentist can do anything- a dentist can prescribe the best antibiotic for him or your local GP but let the dentist know when you ring he has facial swelling they have to see him. once infection has cleared they will book him back to sort the tooth out don't not go to appointment because the pain has stopped it will keep reoccuring. please don't leave it it is really dangerous

  2. ibuprophin or motrin could relieve the pain, but he needs to see a dentist.

  3. hot water and salt . help alot and peroxide also . .. for swelling take advil or something with antinflmaotry in it . .. but the salt water does wonders hot but not to hot and swich in mouth same with peroxide to stop and kill infection ..

  4. Try these things:

Cold compress to the outside of mouth

    Listerine(yellow) and Orajel mix

    hot shower

    warm compress

ANYTHING you try, note which ones help and where the pain is.  If these don't help, Go to the er.  Ask for a local, penicilin, and tylenol three.

THIS IS NOT REPLACEMENT FOR DENTAL CARE.

  5. put orajel on it every hr or so and make him put ice on his cheek i had the same problem
