TRENTINO defeats Zaksa by 3-0
A Pool C match of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League took place recently between TRENTINO planetwin365 and the Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE of Poland.
The competition between the two sides was conducted in the Polish city of Kedzierzyn-Kozle. The venue of the competition was the Azoty sports hall.
It did not take long for the match between the two European sides to reach its close as TRENTINO was able to make a clean sweep over their opponents. Despite the fact that they lost the match, the first and the second set were played well by the Zaksa side
however, their performance experienced a downturn in the third set as a result of which TRENTINO was able to gain an easy win over their opponents and seal the deal on the match at the following final set scores: 25-20, 25-21 and 25-9.
The coach of the host team, Krzysztof Stelmach, expressed himself in the following words after the match had reached its close, “TRENTINO showed tonight many great combinations in attack and we were not able to use our middle blockers as we should.”
On the other hand, the coach of the TRENTINO side, Radostin Stoytchev, shared his views by making the following statements, “We took our lessons from the first match. We finally got accustomed to a ball we do not use in the national league. Zaksa played
strong in the first two sets but we finally broke their resistance. I think that in spite of the result both teams showed their skills and determination also for the remainder of this Champions League campaign.”
The first set of the match saw the TRENTINO take the lead early on at 8-2 but Zaksa was able to make the match reach a tie at 16-16. However, TRENTINO did not give up and propelled themselves forwards in order to bag the opening set of the game at 25-20.
The second set started off with both the teams putting on a good show and staying close to each other. The match was still tied at 21-21 but TRENTINO eventually secured another win at 25-21. The loss of the first two sets got the performance of the hosts
to dwindle in the third set as a result of which the TRENTINO got themselves an easy win at 25-9.
