TRENTINO planetwin365 sweeps Arkas IZMIR to secure bronze in CEV – Volleyball news
A final four match of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League- men saw the two teams of TRENTINO planetwin365 as well as Arkas IZMIR compete with each other on March 18.
The match between the two sides took place in the Polish city of Lodz. The venue of the competition was the Atlas Arena which was jam packed with the Polish fans.
It did not take long for the TRENTINO squad to make the match reach its close as they were able to make a clean sweep over their opponents. By the time that the match came to its end, the scoreboard showed the following final set scores: 25-20, 25-19 and
25-19.
The coach of the Arkas squad, Glenn Hoag, shared his views at the press conference conducted after the match in the following manner, “I think that was a great experience even though we did not win a game here. Today we lined up some young players so that
they could also have the chance to experience some high-class Volleyball and play against some of the best in the world. As for the game, TRENTINO pressured us a lot with their service which they are famous for and we could not cope with this.”
On the other hand, the coach of the winning team, Radostin Stoytchev, expressed himself by giving the following comments, “I do not have much to say about this game. I am happy that we have medalled once again even though the color has changed in comparison
with the last seasons.”
The first set of the match saw the TRENTINO squad take the lead at the coming of the first technical time out at 8-7.
Once they had the lead, the TRENTINO did not look back and kept their opponents chasing behind all through the first frame of the game which ended in favour of TRENTINO at 25-20.
The confidence generated from winning the opening frame made the TRENTINO squad start off the second frame on solid grounds that gave them an easy win at 25-19. The third set saw a half hearted effort from the home team as TRENTINO went on to secure the
bronze in the tournament.
