TRNC (KKTC) are going to sit down with the south side of cyprus to try and unite the island this summer. Why?

I guess most people will say they have no choice. But why should TRNC do anything like this? they proved they want peace in 2004 it was the south side that said NO. Since 2004 EU and UN have made promises which they did not keep. I feel TRNC cannot and should trust any of those groups until they give a little as promised.

Turkey should join the EU then all problems in Cyprus will be solved and all Europe will be one big happy people.
