One of Microsoft's flight simulator games for the pc had the twin towers in the actual game...

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 had a patch of the twin towers in the skyline of New York that could be eliminated if you flew your jetliner into it.... although it wasn't a part of the game

it was possible....

in fact, earlier in the game the pilots joke amongst themselves

{in reference to an earlier tragedy}

"John, you just about crashed into the Empire State Building! Hey, that would be cool."

  1. False

  2. Um. What actually happened was that after the events of 9/11, Microsoft offered a patch for Flight Sim 2000 that would remove the Twin Towers from the game and replace that part of the NYC skyline.

    There was nothing about "flying your jetliner into it" involved in the patch.

  3. True! They could do it. In fact in  the game Army of two, you could see the towers somoking on a tV news report right before the protaginists go on a mission. But they would never make it a level like "Destroy the Twin Towers!" It would be more like a "oh c**p" moment IF they ever did do it more in depth.

  4. False because it would offend people.

  5. yeah you could play a firefighter who has to rescue people.

    or you could play a person on the plane and try to stop the disaster from ever happening..

  6. True, they definitely could put any historical events in a videogame just as long as it's relevant to the game's plot or theme.

  7. True.

    I'm not saying it's a good thing, though.

  8. They could put most anything in a video game, but that one would get a lot of bad press and it would tick me off as well.

    there is nothing funny or entertaining about that incident.

  9. true
