TTC, AF popped up after 6 month absence?

Hi friends!

I had a miscarriage in Jan 08' of this year. In march, I went to the OB/GYN to get provera, and forced AF down that month. But since then, AF disappeared again. Until it came back July 29. Then (to my surprize) it got here August 29th. Almost on schedule!

TMI: The color of AF was bright red too, and I hadn't seen that color in a while, most of the time its been brownish resembling old blood.

Does this mean I have a chance to concieve this month? Do you think my body set itself right? Or am I just fooling myself?

I'm just so heart broken from my unexplained miscarrage and my hubby is in the military, we want to concieve before he's deployed!

Experienced answers only please. I need advice.

P.S.

All my OB says, it to keep trying. (Honestly, thats all I have been doing.)

  1. I think you have a good chance. Try charting your temperatures. It will give you a clear indication on when and if you ovulated.

    Go to www.fertilityfriend.com

  2. I hate it when doctors say stupid things like "just keep trying, honey"!!!!

The first thing is to start temping TOMORROW.  It is your single easiest, cheapest tool to have an idea of if you're ovulating, how long your luteal phase (time between ovulation and your period) is, if you may be pregnant, etc.  It'll give you a lot more info.  Go to www.fertilityfriend.com.  You can also get the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" - that has a boatload of info too!

Also, once you have a few months of info, if your chart shows some clear problems, it's often easier to get the doctors to take you more seriously.  And if yours doesn't, FIND ANOTHER ONE.  You need a doctor who will take you seriously, and if they don't, you need to find someone who does.  You've been VERY patient, waiting for 6 months for a natural, normal-seeming period after a miscarriage - it's not like you're expecting everything to be fine within only a month or two!  I have not had a miscarriage myself, but from talking with people who have, my understanding is that things should right themselves within 2-3 months unless it was a particularly physically traumatic miscarriage.  So you've been patient enough - start charting, and get a doctor who will take your concerns seriously.

Past that, to me, it sounds like your cycle is righting itself (great!).  Get going on your temping, and good luck!

  3. It seems like your period is trying to sort it self out.Try to jot down your cycle patterns. this will give you an idea of your ovulation date. Also, i heard using OPK's helps. try to look into that. Good luck.
