Question:

TTC #1....any advice?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive baby #1. My period was quite off when I first went off the pill but I think now it is finally back to normal (meaning I'm finally getting it every month) I am just confused as to when to start counting for ovulation times. I seem to spot for about 5-6 days before my period finally comes full blown...Do I count those first days as the start of my period or when it finally comes? Any positive feedback would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Check your cervical mucus.  When it has the consistency of egg whites, and really stretchy...you are probably ovulating.

  2. Try to do this Fertility calendar on babyMed and read what they say about improving your chances getting pregnant.

You can improve your chances getting pregnant by finding out when you ovulate and finding out your fertile days.

There are only about 5-6 fertile days during each menstrual cycle: The day of ovulation and the 4-5 days immediately preceding ovulation. Making love during these fertile days improves your chance of getting pregnant.

  3. Okay first and foremost stay away from alochol and caffine. That will automactically keep u from getting preggo. The way that u can tell that ur ovualting is stick to fingers inside of ur v****a (I know TMI or just plain gross but it works. Trust me. I'm preggo with number 3) and if ur fingers come out clear and the fluid is stringy between both the fingers, then ur ovulating. If the fingers come out creamy, then ur not.ovulating. And another thing to do is after u have ur period about 2 weeks later u should be ovulating. So if ur period is 28 days then u ovulate between day 14 and 16. So get to work and i'm sending some baby dust ur way. Oh yeah, one more thing, it may take up to 1 year before u become preggo. So don't get impaitent and good luck!!!!!!!
