Question:

TTC #2-Ovulation Question?

My expected ovulation is today. AF was the 7th. Yesterday and the day before I noticed the ewcm and today it's more watery. I had s*x last night. When was I probably ovulating? Today or the previous days? Today I have a pain in my lower right side. I thought ovulation pains were usually in the left side?

  1. Um, first I have to ask what everyone's probably thinking.  Why on Earth would ovulation pains only be on the left side??  You do have two ovaries, don't you?  That means that you can get the mild cramping associated with ovulation on either side or even down the middle.  Some women don't have it happen at all.  All of it is normal.

As for when you ovulated, it was sometime in the last few days and having s*x yesterday was good timing if you're trying to get pregnant.  Your odds are the same as they are for anyone else trying to conceive so you'll just have to wait two weeks to test and find out.  Good luck.  I hope it goes the way you want it to.

  2. well it depends on each woman. You can buy one of those ovulation tests. They are pretty accurate.

  3. Ovulation cramps generally change sides each month. Ovulation is different every month for every woman, but its good that you are watching your body for signs... and bd'ing at the appropriate times. If you ovulated today and had s*x last night or the nights before last your chances are pretty high for conceiving! But just to be safe you should keep BD'ing tonight and tomorrow for good measure! :)

  4. Watery CM is actually more fertile than EWCM, so I would say you baby danced at the right time last night. I think you are ovulating right on track, today.  Like you, I only ever had ovary pains in my right side, never my left, so Kristy (poster above),  it is not uncommon to have pain in one side.  Sperm can survive 3-5 days in fertile CM, so I think you have covered it.

Goodluck and loads of baby dust to you!
