Okay so my husband and I have decided to have a baby last month and have been actively trying. The problem is that my period was late this month and I got really excited because I thought I may be having pregnancy symptoms but sure enough my period came almost 2 weeks late. My problem is that I started to spot on friday and I didnt get my actual period until tuesday. So if you ovulate 14 days after the start of your cycle would like first day be the friday I started spotting or would it be tuesday when I had my full blown period? I am really confused. I am also upset because my husband and I decided to try to have a baby and I just found out that a family member of mine is having a baby and she is complaining that shes not even happy about it and shes doing things like smoking while shes PG. It just makes me really angry because I would love to have a baby right now and I thought that I was PG and I was so happy and then I got my period and I was honestly really sad and then I have my family member complaining. Well any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank youuu in advance!!!

  1. just keep having s*x, try to relax, and keep tabs on when you are ovulating. they sell ovulation test strips and that could help. as for the family member, try not to mind their business, cause it is causing you stress and that could hinder you getting pregnant...God bless, hope you get preggers

  2. Okay, first, the whole 14 day thing is basically a myth.  You need to start checking your cervical fluid to see when it gets watery and/or eggwhite.  That is your most fertile time and you need to baby dance then.  Every woman ovulates at different times of their cycle and can ovulate different days each month.  If you would like, you can start using Ovulation Predictor Kits to give you a heads up that you are about to ovulate.  They usually pick up the surge about 24-36 hours before you ovulate, so that would be the time to do it.  Also, if you want, you can buy a basal body thermometer and start checking your temp first thing in the morning to make sure that you ovulated that month.  That also helps to let you know how long you have to wait to take a test.  Most women can test 16-18 days after ovulation and get a positive result, some sooner.  Good luck to you!

  3. Don't get upset too soon, if your period was late, there is a chance still that you may be pregnant.  I really do suggest to wait and see after your next period.  Spotting can just be a firs sing of pregnancy, you never know.

I really do wish you the best of luck

  4. That is absolutely ridiculous of your family member to intentionally be harming the baby!  And it does make me angry since we are ttc as well.  As far as knowing when you are going to ovulate, I would recommend using an opk.  I use one and its great.  It tells you when you are at high fertility and peak fertility.  It's very helpful.  You can also read up more about your cervical mucus and that might help you determine when you are approaching ovulation.  If anything, just base it on both dates and keep doin the baby dance Ü Baby dust!
