Hi All

Me and my partner have been trying for a baby now for 8 months, We are both 22, I have read that your 20's are the best time to try. My partner has a son from a previous relationship and I have been pregnant before which resulted in a miscarriage. I am just running out of hope I feel like I am never going to have a baby, been to my GP and he says that it can take up to 18 months. Do any of you have any tips for me?

  1. my advice is to relax and to enjoy yourselves whilst trying!! i have a 23month old, we were casually tryin and i got pregnant after 6 months. we are currently TTC#2 and have started charting and everything and im gettin so stressed out already its only been 5 months but i think the stress doesnt help so i am going to stop and let mother nature take its course! i would say just have s*x anythime between periods, thats what i did to get my son and it worked :D baby dust all round!! xxxxxx

  2. it took me and my partner 2 years, and when i conceived was the time i was not stressing and worrying about it just. It's funny me and my partner used to have s*x every other day and it never worked and when i did fall pregnant we only had it once a week, it will happen

  3. I too have been trying for almost 9 months now. I have gone to the obgyn and she said that after 1 year they will do tests to see if there is anything preventing me from getting pregnant. Try to relax and not think about it (I know it's almost impossible). Good luck to you!!!!!

  4. Make sure to watch your body for changes that are telling you it's your fertile time, so you should have s*x on those days.  To start, see if there is an increase in cm (esp. if it is watery or like egg whites).  Next, you can use opks to detect your LH surge before ovulation.  You can also check your cervix to see if it is high and soft, but that can be confusing and uncomfortable, if you're not used to doing it.  To confirm you ovulate, you can chart your temps.  I recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.  After reading it I was AMAZED at all the things the docs don't tell you about trying to get pregnant!!!  Goodluck and baby dust to you!!!
