Hi my fiance and I have been trying to conceive for 11 months and I am still not pregnant but we havent really used anything to help us conceive. We are starting to think that now we are going to start getting some help. We know that most docs wont see you unless you have been having problems conceiving for over 1 year. So what should we get to help us conceive better. We were thinking ovulation tests to see when we are ovulating but is there anything else that we can buy over the counter to help up conceive?? We really are getting to the point where we will do anything for us to get pregnant. So anyone have any advice on conceiving and what we should buy?? Please some tips thank you!!

  1. BabyCenter.com has good resources for trying to get pregnant: http://www.babycenter.com/getting-pregna...

The most important thing is to understand when you're most fertile (when you're ovulating). If you have regular periods, it should be pretty easy to figure out when you're ovulating. The OPKs should definitely help you out. Good luck!

  2. I recommend going to the doctor and telling her you have been trying for a year.  I know it is lying, but I went and lied at six months and found out I wasn't ovulating. Thank goodness I didn't wait a year.  My doc said that the ovulation predictor kits are better than the basal temp taker.  The temp taking is much cheaper, but make sure you take your temp the same time every day and do it before you do anything.  Keep the thermometer by your bed so you don't even have to get out.  Once you see the spike in temp it is really too late to try.  The BBT is more of a way to see if you are ovulating, and then plan accordingly the following months.  Hope that helps and good luck!

  3. We've been trying for 11 months too. I am using ovulation kits that I got from amazon.com - they are much less expensive than the kind you get at the store. The good news is 90% of couples conceive within 18 months of trying. And on a personal note we have 4 friends who tried for over a year and finally got pregnant. 1 of those couples tried for 21 months! Be patient, and try not to stress about it too much. Its a proven fact that stress can reduce your chances. I'll cross my fingers for you, if you cross your fingers for me!

  4. Lets start from the beginning if either of you smoke or drink stop or cut down especially your fiance as alcohol and smoking can slow down sperms mobility as it only survives for 8 hours also it reduces the amount of sperm ejaculated. if your periods are regular (every 28 days) then you should ovulate between days 10-15 (counting the first day of your period as day 1) after intercourse lye on your back with your legs against a wall (for comfort) for 10 - 15 minutes this will help sperm travel faster. This method has worked many times with friends of mine. Good luck!!

  5. I was trying for 3 yrs with no luck. I would recommend seeing a gyno but tell them you have been trying for over a yr.

Well after 3 yrs we finally went to the doctors and I started Clomid last month and Bam 3 yrs nothing 1 month on clomid and Pregnant =)) . ... Also a Body Basil thermometer is nice. You take your temperature every morning before rising and you watch as your body works and your temperature usually rises between days 14-18 which is after ovulation and then if you do become pregnant it will rise again and stay high. Its really cool how useful the BBT really is. Good LUCK with everything and lots of bay dust for you!

  6. My husband and I haven't been ttc as long as you, but I am already bummed that it hasn't happened yet.  My brother and sister in law got pregnant "by mistake" (in other words my sister in law wanted one and my brother in law didn't) and she is pregnant with number two.  I am hoping that I am as lucky as she is.  I am ready to have a child and I hope to conceive soon.
