TTC, I have a split uterus.... does anyone know anything about this? I haven't used protection for over 2 years and STILL no BFP, am I infertile?? We are just now starting to actually try, we've been just hoping it would happen.

Suggestions?

  1. My mom has that and she has 2 kids, she did have 4 miscarriages because of it.

I would go see a high risk specialist not just a OB Dr.

    I hope all goes well....

  2. uterus didelphys is where the two halves of the uterus didn't fuse together properly when you was a developing fetus. Getting pregnant is not usually a problem, but there is a risk that the cervix will not be strong enough to hold in the pregnancy (called incompetent cervix) leading to a late miscarriage or premature birth. Some obstetricians recommend placing a stitch, called a cerclage, around the cervix to help it stay closed.

Doctors will follow these patients a bit closer than those with low-risk pregnancies to be sure that the baby is growing well. Also breech and other unusual fetal positions are more common with uterus didelphys, and the chance of cesarean is pretty high.

Despite all of these concerns, many women with uterus didelphys do have full-term healthy babies.

i would consult your doctor, or preferably a obstetrician
