In an attempt to speed up the progression in freestyle snowboarding and taking it to an entirely new level, Ticket to Ride (TTR) Pro Snowboarding announced the launch of universal World Snowboarding Points Lists on Saturday, February 18.
The latest points lists will help in breaking barriers that separate the various freestyle snowboarding events by taking the results of riders at all the major competitions into account while ranking the halfpipe, slopestyle and big air athletes.
The events that will be getting considered for the World Snowboarding Points List include the TTR World Snowboard Tour, Winter X Games, Winter Dew Tour and International Skiing Federation (FIS) World Cups.
The results collected by the male and female athletes at these events will determine where they stand on the new universal world rankings.
Talking about the World Snowboarding Points Lists, TTR President Reto Lamm said, “This is the first ranking list of its kind for freestyle snowboarding and has been introduced by TTR Pro Snowboarding as a next step in advancing the organization of the sport.
For the first time in its history, snowboarding now gets a transparent, up-to-date ranking resource. This allows fans, riders, event organizers and media to see who the truly best riders are. This is more proof of TTR´s efforts to provide the best competitive
environment for the sport of snowboarding.”
The primary objective of TTR Pro Snowboarding to develop a universal snowboarding points list is to highlight the leading halfpipe, slopestyle and big air athletes. The new points list was developed with the joint effort of TTR Pro Snowboarding, snowboarding
associations, riders, events and coaches around the globe.
TTR has been committed to the progression of freestyle snowboarding for years now and dedicated its efforts to take the sport to an entirely new level. It has also been working around the clock to increase the appeal of the sport through and earning it the
same status as other major sports such as baseball, soccer, etc.
The latest effort by TTR will surely contribute to a brighter future for freestyle snowboarding by increasing the level of competition and giving the riders a motivation to push themselves hard to improve and hold on to their spot on the world rankings.
The World Snowboarding Points Lists have become available on TTR’s official website as of February 18 and will be regularly updated.
