I live in a block of flats and no1 else has bought anything new in last few days. Only started after I bought new mouse. I have an analogue TV and interference is intermittent. Doesn't happen on any other TV in my flat though. Any ideas anyone?

  1. First of all, you need to confirm the mouse is the issue. Power off the computer and the mouse. Check your TV. Is the interference still there? I would observe for a period of 30 mins (watch some program). Next, power on computer and use mouse. Watch tv too. Has the interference appeared? If so, here are some suggestions!

Try moving the mouse reciever box further away from your tv ariel. Does your ariel wire run within 5 meters of the mouse reciever box? Can you move it? Interference will drop exponentially with distance! Doubling the distance will reduce interference by 4!

Wrapping tin foil around the wire nearest the computer. This may help shield from interference.

    Replace your TV ariel!

    Get Sky / Cable!

Change the setting on the mouse (perhaps it has multiple settings, which use different frequencies).

Take the mouse back to the store! Get another one!

Use a wired mouse - then you dont need to worry about batteries!

Dont watch TV whilst using the computer! - This option will also be good for the environment!
