TV Licensing?

Question

Now that I've sussed out how to download programmes from the main four channels from the internet. I want to get rid of my TV. The only thing that worries me is the "streaming" live TV on the ITV website. Does the fact that these are available to me require me to have a TV license. Am I required to prove that I'm NOT using this part of the ITV website. Any help will be great. Thanks.

If you can receive tv programmes you need a licence.

you dont even need a TV to need a TV licence. YOU NEED ONE IF YOU HAVE A DVD or VIDEO recorder

The problem nowadays is that TV and computer technology are converging. So it could mean having to have a TV licence if you buy a laptop or mobile phone, simply because they can be used to receive TV programmes. So there should be the option of being able to buy a computer, laptop, or mobile phone that cannot receive TV programmes; otherwise, there would be compulsion to buy a TV licence just to make phone calls.

If you are watching pre-recorded material you do not need a TV licence.

If you are watching it at the same time as it is being broadcast You do need a licence.(technically)

Though you need a license to watch TV I would like to point out that the license fee does not go towards ITV,  only BBC channels and radio
