I am planning on getting a new TV this summer maybe. I don't want a plasma because I've heard you have to do repairs every few years. What's the best between DLP and LCD? What are the best brands? I was thinking maybe a Samsung? I'm planning on anything from 46" to 57". Any suggestions would help, thanks.

I am not sure where you heard that plasma TVs need repairs every few. This is a myth. Plasma are not different (in terms of repairs) than other TVs.

Since you know very little about TVs, I suggest you visit cnet.com. They have excellent review articles and comprehensive reviews of the latest TVs.
