Question:

TV/RCA combo turns itself off?

I have a 13 inch White Westinghouse TV/VCR combo & it keeps turning itself off after about 15 seconds.Even it there is no VCR tape in it at all.

Im pretty knowledgable when it comes to TVs & electronics.I took the plastic casing off it so i can look inside & everything looks fine.My settings are set correctly & its not the TV's bulb.

Im thinking it has something to do w/the VCR because when it turns off it makes a click sound like maybe the VCR is trying to eject a tape, but not the full sound, just the beginning of the click.Even when there is no tape in the VCR.

Im wondering if theres a wire or something that i can disconnect inside that will disable the VCR entirely? So it acts like its a TV alone & not a TV/VCR combo.

Does anyone have any idea of how i can make this dang TV stay on?

Please & thank u!

  1. try leaving a tape you do not need in the vcr all the time, it sometimes works not always.
