I have a sylvania tv made in 05. I hooked up a converter box but when I went to turn it on the tv would not power up but the converter box would light up and go from red to green etc. The box is hooked up correctly, everthing is snug but no go. I tried an hd antenna but it did no good. Anyone have a clue?

thanks

  1. they have changed all antenas to go digital and the tvs are now being made to run that way. try calling the "geek squad" at best buy they should be able to help u to solve this problem. have u tried calling the tv company themselves?

  2. call up the place where u got one of those crapppy things

  3. Remove the box from your TV.  See if it works that way.  There's nothing about the converter box that would prevent your TV from working or damage your TV.  It could be that your TV just happened to fail at the same time as you got the converter.  And you don't need a "digital" antenna.  An antenna is an antenna.  One that works for analog will work for digital.
