  1. A component in the line amp section is vibrating at 15625khz, as one dude has said some people can't hear it ! mostly old codgers like me for instance young people hear it because the upper register of their hearing has not fallen off !! ( like mine ).

Right since all this is no consolation to you here is what to do about it ! to find the guilty component , usually an inductor you or some one more experienced has to press on the inductors ( coils ) with an insulated tool like a wooden skewer ! when you touch the faulty one the whistle will stop, next pour a dollop of hot melt glue over the offending part and when the glue sets you will have a fix !!!

    Good luck with it .

    Cheers Pete

  2. THAT is a good question! Did you know that there are people who cannot even hear that high-pitched whining? So, it drives you NUTS but they have no idea what you are even talking about! I have never been able to do anything that changed the sound at all except blocking the sound some with things in the way.

  3. Thats the flyback - some loose wires in the coil.  Not much can be done about it.  I have had TVs do this - sometimes if you slap them on the side they will stop for awhile.
