TV out

Question

hey i own a Panasonic and two apex tv's in my apartment (living room panasonic)(1&2 bd rm apex's tv). Well recently like few weeks back my family and i went out to eat dinner and came back in the afternoon and when i got home i tried turn the tv on and the tv was not responding at all. I tried also messing with the breaker and that was ok and everything. Then i went into the 2 bd rm to check and see if the problem was with just the first tv in the living rm and the bd rm tv (apex brand) also did not turn on. Usually both these tv's have a red light on at all times when the tv's are turned off. So then i went to my bd rm to check on the 3rd tv (apex brand) and this tv actually turned on with no problems. The first tv (panasonic) is pluged in with an extention cord since i have tv and playstation pluged into cheap extention cord and then that plugs into the wall. The 2nd tv is plugged into the wall directly with no surge protectors. Also the 3rd tv is plugged into a surge protector. Now one thing i showed mention is that i live in texas and at times it rain like crazy and at times it rains in one area and not another area. But this particular day i dont remember if it rained or any lightning action took place or not. I was hoping to see if you have any suggesttion. The tv's are about 6-7 yr old. But i would like to save any money possible and try and fix it my self if possible. I was hoping to get any recommendations on testing some things inside the tv first.
