TV problem: For super smart or tv repair Man!?

Question

My parents TV fell off the dresser but dad caught it before it hit the ground. When they put it back up on top, it wouldn't turn on. They said I could keep it if I could fix it. I know they think I can't fix it and I want to show them they r wrong! Please help me I'm desperate for my own tv. P.S. if you are just going to tell me to get a new one, don't bother posting. thanks everyone!

with power unpluged take off back and check the little fuse by the power cord

If the TV did not sustain a mechanical shock and merely slipped off the dresser only to be caught then I don't see any damage being done, therefore check that the mains cord was not pulled out !then check the other cables if any ! If you draw a blank there do an edit and state what type of set it is CRT or lcd or what ever !
