TV produces sound but no picture for the cable?

The DVD still plays movies and shows a picture and has sound. It seems to just be the cable that isn't working. I have the worst cable company in history and they insist it has nothing to do with them. Please provide any info that you can. THANKS!

  1. cable box to DVD  to TV    Most DVD players lack a cable input

and use the video input  channel on a tv RCA type cables   and cable company uses muti channel COAX  cable   so you going to need to route your cables to the TV  and tune your tv  to list  video inputs  and  channels

    1. Cable or Cable Box ?

Cable if routed to DVD first if not straight to TV

Cable Box  has inputs and outputs same as a Dish Box

Route  Box  DVD  TV   use  the input plugs and output plugs

Chanel 3 is used by coax and Channel 4

  2. hahaha

  3. If the DVD works OK video and audio and the TV has sound when you are using cable. You have something wired wrong in your setup.

Cable cannot have sound and no picture on all channels.  There could be a cable problem with one channel but not all.

Something in your wiring is preventing the video from getting to the TV.  Most likely it is still receiving the video from the DVD player, and without a DVD playing you get a black/blue screen.

To check unplug the DVD's video wire from the TV set.
