Question:

TV remote quit working

My Symphonic WF2703 TV remote began working sporadically, then quit altogether; remote control is working for other components, just won't control TV at all. I isolated circuit RCV101, removed a small IR receiver transistor 342D0017, took it to my local TV repair place, they said they couldn't help. Got any ideas?
