TV to Speakers Surround Sound?

I currently have a TV in my room and would like to have surround sound on it. I have a set of surround sound COMPUTER speakers. Is there anyway I could hook these computer speakers up to my TV?

  1. computer speakers have plugs that would usually fit on earphone jacks in front. try plugging it there.

    but if your computer speakers have rca type of plugs, the hook them up on rca out terminals at the back or sides of the tv.

    however, with surround sound, you will not be able to get surround sound quality; just stereo quality.

  2. I not sure but I think you need to go through a stereo receiver.  I have surround sound but it goes through the stereo receiver not directly from the tv to the speakers.

  3. If the speakers are self powered, and not just for electricity, but in terms of amplification, *and* your TV has an available audio out jack, then perhaps.

    Otherwise, you'll need to hook up the TV, through it's audio out jacks, to an audio video receiver, and have the receiver run a set of audio speakers.
